THE well grassed Maranoa property Dunkeld Station has sold before its scheduled auction by MAA Livestock and Property.
Located 60km south of Mitchell on the Mitchell-St George Road, Dunkeld Station comprises of 2002ha (4947 acres) of freehold country plus a 165ha term lease.
The sale price nor the buyers name has yet been released.
The current carrying capacity of Dunkeld is estimated at 350-400 cows or 600-800 backgrounders.
The property is described as mix of coolibah, box, ironbark and pine country. Some 800ha has been pulled and stick raked in the past 10 years. There is 160ha blade ploughed and seeded to buffel and sabi grass.
The well watered property has a bore and six dams.
Improvements include a comfortable three bedroom house with large screened-in verandah on three sides, a three bay car shed, shearing quarters, and cattle yards.
