DROUGHTMASTERS sold to a top of $20,000 at the annual Bunya Bull Sale at the Coolabunia Saleyards near Kingaroy on Saturday.

The 56 bulls from 19 studs sold for an average of $8795 to gross $492,500 in a 100 per cent clearance at the sale conducted by Aussie Land and Livestock and GDL.
Interestingly, 23 lots in the catalogue were PP homozygous polled, which averaged $10,367, while 14 were single polled, which averaged $7643.
Sale topper was was Lot 1, Seymour Klemmer (IVF) which went to the Brown family from Latrobe, Longreach. The 721kg PP bull was offered by Kirstie Orphant, Seymour Droughtmasters, Gunalda, and will be used on the Brown's Maryborough property Dimond Downs.
Buyer Jody Brown said she was attracted to the smooth skinned Klemmer because of his Swan bloodlines. He had a 42.5cm scrotal circumference, 126 square cm eye muscle area, 11/10mm fat measurements, and 4.8 per cent intramuscular fat.
The Browns also paid $17,000 for Bryvonlea Uland, a PP bull offered by Brian and Yvonne Heck bred from Glenlands D Ultimatum. That 825kg 22 month old had a 128sq cm EMA, 42.5mm scrotal, and 17/14mm fat measurements.
The Avis family, Monto, bid $16,000 for the 22 month Caldy Hugh (S), offered by Jason Barnard, Caldy Droughtmasters, Monto. Hugh had a 142sq cm EMA and a 40cm scrotal.
Nindethana Krackerjack (P) sold for $15,000 the Wheeler family, Kandanga. The 23 month old entered the ring at 760kg and had a 132sq cm EMA.
The Meagher family also paid $15,000 for an impressive bull from Sylvan Springs Droughtmasters. Their selection was Sylvan Springs Patrol 1060, a 949kg, 29 month old PP bull. He had plenty to offer with a 144sq cm EMA and a 44.5mm scrotal.
Rod Sperling, Baroona, Bell, paid $14,000 for Bryvonlea Ute (PP), a milk tooth bull weighing 696kg.
Bryvonlea's PP bulls were in strong demand, one selling for $13,000 to Christmas Creek Cattle Company and another for $12,000 to Mudloo Pastoral, Kilkivan, which also bought a second 21 month old for $10,500.
Volume buyers with four were Ian and Maryrose Lewis, who paid an average $9375.
Don McConnel, Mount Brisbane, Esk, bought three, including the 31 month old Toogoolawah High AJ.
The two bulls offered by Maleny High already attracted plenty of attention, one going to Tom Maloney, Kingaroy, and the other to Castletower, Calliope.
