THE Plath family's significant 12,800 hectare (31,629 acre) Kilcummin district property Dooruna has sold at auction for $27 million.

Located 110km north east of Clermont, the property was bought by the Duddy family, Callandoon, Goondwindi. The losing bidder was Ed Willis, Bullamon Plains, Thallon.
The grazing homestead freeholding lease features 400ha of irrigation and 3600ha of dryland farming in addition to running 1200 breeders or 2000 adult cattle equivalents.
The sale price is equal to about $2109/ha ($854/acre), which included all crops and plus some plant. Three of the five registered bidders were active at the Nutrien Harcourts auction in Clermont.

The property was offered with of 1368ha of dryland wheat, 924ha of Chickpea, and 349ha of forage sorghum. Dooruna is 71km to McLaren grain depot.
Dooruna has a licenced 12,500 megalitre dam, which catches off Logan Creek.
Without interfering with farming operation, Dooruna is described as comfortably being able to run 1200 breeders or 2000 adult cattle equivalents. The property is fenced into 20 paddocks plus laneways.

Improvements include the main house, manager's residence, and cattle cattle yards.
Dooruna was held by the Plath Family for the past 39 years.
