The buyers of the 13,076 hectare (32,312 acre) Galloway Plains Pastoral Company property were Jim and Chris Neil-Ballantyne. Almost 4300 branded cattle were included in the sale.
Each of the four parties that had registered to bid were active during the auction. Marketing agent Richard Brosnan, Ray White Rural, said there had been up to 30 inquiries about the property, reflecting the ongoing strong demand for Central Queensland cattle country.
Located 42km west of Calliope, the property is in 22 freehold titles and one 92ha lease. The land comprises near level box and broadleaf ironbark flats, broken by creek lines and low ridges timbered with ironbark, bloodwood and Moreton Bay ash. Soils range from sandy loams on the creek flats to lighter gravelly ridges. Pastures comprise improved rhodes and stylos supporting bluegrass and native spear grass.

The property is divided into 15 main paddocks and five holding paddocks. Water is supplied from the Awoonga Dam Pipeline Scheme, 40 dams and waterholes in Scrubby, Oakey and Station Creeks.
Improvements include five residences, shed, workshop and two sets of cattle yards.
