THE sale of the Augathella property Mareto has been finalised. Offered by Campbell Brownlie, Condamine, the 9446 hectare (23,342 acre) property sold to Kenton and Amy Peart, Dunvegan, Charleville.

Mareto is located in Murweh Shire and is regarded as one the best properties in the Augathella district.
While the sale price remains undisclosing, the selling figure is understood to be close to property listed price of $7 million. The asking price was about $741/ha ($300/acre)
Mareto has about 800ha of cultivation country used to grow forage crops. Some forage sorghum was included in the sale.
The well developed property is about 2400 of open downs country, 1600ha of gidyea/brigalow country developed with buffell grass, with the balance being a mixture of brigalow, bauhinia, belah, myall and bottle tree country.
A feature of the property is 14km long bore fed reticulated watering system.
The property was originally part of Burenda.
The sale was handled by Robert Brown from LJ Hooker, Roma.
