Quail Island covers 1950 hectares (4818 acres) and is divided into seven main paddocks. Estimated to carry about 230-250 breeders with progeny to weaners, the island is also running both deer and sheep. Some 70 Brahman/Charbray-cross breeders are being offered in the sale.
The main cattleyards are of steel construction and have a new vet crush and ramp. The yards are supported by two sets of trap yards.
Located about 4km offshore via Thirsty Sound from Stanage Bay township, the island features a double story, open plan homestead, which has commanding views across the property taking in the many beaches and the Pacific Ocean.
Access to the island is by boat via Stanage Bay with Rockhampton being the major regional centre about 170km south. The island also has a 1000m airstrip.

Solar power services the main homestead which is supported by a backup generator.
The sub-tropical Island has gently undulating hills timbered with narrow leaf ironbark, bloodwood and coastal scrub rising to the steeper hills at Mount Speargrass and Mount Arthur, all accessible to livestock.
The country is mainly grassed with forest Mitchell and supported by soft native grasses under sown in area with seca, wynncassia and verano stylos.

There are 10 dams at various sites across the property. The three residences are all serviced by rain water.
Other improvements include a lowset, four bedroom manager’s residence and a three bedroom worker’s cottage, which is in need of repairs.
