THE well developed Inglewood district property property Artunga has sold for $2.3 million at a Ray White Rural auction in Brisbane today.
Located at Oman-ama, 20km east of Inglewood, the 2926 hectare (7230 acre) freehold property in nine titles was offered on a walk in, walk out with 4000-plus sheep and full farming plant.
The property is described as alluvial creek flats on the front northern end running into development light box country with undulating traprock soils at the south eastern end. It is grassed with Queensland pitted blue grass and clovers in season.
In addition, Artunga also has 62ha of irrigation under two centre pivots, at the head of Coolmunda Dam.
The 4000-head sheep flock is said to represent some of the best White Dorper bloodlines in the country. Some 130 mixed cattle and 21 camels are included in the sale.
Artunga has a 4km double frontage to McIntyre Brook and an 8km double frontage to Chain of Ponds. Both have permanent waterholes. There are also 24 earth dams and 12 paddock troughs.
There are 34 paddocks serviced by laneways and numerous subdivisions, making it well suited to cell grazing. Artunga is estimated to carry 6000 dse and 150 cows.
Improvements include the original, modernised homestead, a second four bedroom homestead, new three stand woolshed, two machinery sheds, hay shed, silo, covered sheep yards, and cattle yards.
The farm equipment included a Cat D7 dozer, Case 7240 tractor, Landini tractor with bucket, Duetz tractor with blade, Superior slasher, Gold Acres boom spray, Marshall fertiliser spreader, offsets, scarifier, combines, utes, feeders and truck.
