LEADING seed stock producer Palgrove will allow NSW cattle producers to inspect sale bulls by arrangement tomorrow (Friday), before the Queensland border is closed under tough new COVID-19 restrictions.
The Queensland Government advised this week the border would be closed from 1am on Saturday, August 8, to anyone travelling from NSW not performing 'essential services'.
Palgrove is preparing 102 Charolais and 60 Ultrablack bulls for its annual on-property sale on September 11.
Business development manager Ben Noller said NSW cattle producers would be able to inspect the sale bulls at Strathgarve, Dalveen, tomorrow (August 7) by appointment, and if they met Palgrove's internal COVID-safe procedures.
"This will allow time to return across the border by 1am on Saturday," Mr Noller said.
NSW producers need to contact Ben Noller on 0427 700 949 to make arrangements prior to visiting Strathgarve. Dalveen is on the New England Highway, 60km north of the NSW border.
To inspect Palgrove bulls tomorrow, visitors must:
- Not be displaying any flu like symptoms or have had flu like symptoms in the past 14 days.
- Not have returned from overseas, COVID-19 hotspots, or have been in contact with anyone from these areas in the past 14 days.
- Provide personal contact details upon entry to Strathgarve.
- Be willing to drive your own vehicle to view the sale bulls. Visitors will be guided by a Palgrove staff member in a separate vehicle. Visitors will not be required to open any gates.
Mr Noller said a COVID-safe plan would also be in place for the September 11 bull sale.
"We are continuing to closely monitor updates to ensure our event is compliant and safe, while welcoming to all those who can attend," Mr Noller said.
"If you cannot attend our sale in September, we encourage you to register with AuctionsPlus or speak to your local agent," Mr Noller said.
"Many of our clients have allowed us to select bulls for them sight unseen over the last five decades, so talk to us about the many options we provide, so that you can secure the right Palgrove bulls to progress your operation."
