THE Allpass family’s proven and strategically located Central Western Queensland property The Patrick near Barcaldine has been placed under contract.
The 16,786 hectare (41,477 acre) mostly freehold property was passed in for $5.3 million at an Elders’ auction in Barcaldine on June 7.
It is understood the undisclosed contract price is for a substantially higher figure.
The country is predominantly level to gently sloping. There are red, pebbly red, and grey soils, as well as lightly shaded areas and open country. About 6000ha has been pulled, with 480ha blade ploughed and stick raked areas.
The Patrick is well grassed with buffel, natural grasses, seasonal herbages and edible timbers.
Timbers showing the quality of the country include: gidyea, bauhinia, coolibah, river gum, beef wood, white wood, iron wood, vine tree, sandalwood, dead finish, leopard wood, blood wood, and box.
The property is partially exclusion fenced and has 10 paddocks plus holding paddocks. Water is supplied by three flowing bores which is piped to tanks and troughs.
The Patrick features a beautifully presented 100-plus year old homestead set in well maintained gardens with a tennis court. The Allpass family ownership dates back some 80 years.
Other improvements include a machinery shed, vehicle shed and workshop, two sets of steel cattle yards, a six stand shearing shed and sheep yards.
The Patrick has historically been a sheep and cattle property, but in recent years had exclusively run cattle.
