ANN Ballinger’s Muttaburra district Mitchell and buffel grass property Stockholm has sold at a Colliers International auction for $3.85 million.
The 11,857 hectare (29,300 acre) freehold property sold to Beaudesert family.
The sale price is equal to about $325/ha ($131/acre).
Marketing agent Ben Forrest said four of the six parties that registered to bid on Stockholm were active at the auction.
Water is a feature of the well grassed property. Two flowing bores supply 29 concrete apron troughs across the entire property. The water system includes 50km of mostly 63mm and 75mm poly pipe, which was installed under the GABSI scheme in 2014. There is a maximum 2km radius between watering points. There are also semi-permanent holes Cornish Creek Tower Hill creeks.
Stockholm comprises of about 4000ha of established buffel, 2950ha of open Mitchell grass downs, 2630ha of shaded Mitchell grass country, 1400ha of channel country, and 800ha of pebbly, herbage country.
The property is divided in 10 main paddocks plus holding paddocks.
Improvements include a Queenslander homestead, cottage, workers quarters, machinery shed/workshop, cattle yards, six stand shearing shed, airstrip, and a second set of sheep yards.
There are two sets of cattle yards. The main yards are located on the southern side of the property. The second set are portable yards located in about the centre of Stockholm.
Some plant was included in the sale.
