Thanks to the host masthead Queensland Country Life and the combined efforts of its Fairfax Agricultural Media colleagues across the country, all the action from the big event will be carried to a worldwide audience as it happens.
It’s ‘Your News, Your Way’ with news updated daily online, on social media, and at the Rockhampton Showgrounds via a big screen at the QCL site and a daily newspaper available free to all patrons from Tuesday, May 8 until Friday, May 11.
More than 30 of the country’s best agricultural journalists will be at the grounds through the week, ensuring readers and audiences wherever they are get news, commentary and analysis from trusted reporters with longstanding experience in the industry.
As well as all the reports hour by hour online and in print in all Fairfax Agricultural Media newspapers on Thursday, May 17, here are some of the showcase initiatives you can expect from our team when the action starts on May 6.
Watch all the action from stud cattle rings one and three from Tuesday to Thursday. On Tuesday you can watch the Brahmans, junior led steers and Murray Greys. On Wednesday it’s the Droughtmasters, Limousins and Red Angus and Thursday it’s the Charolais, Shorthorns, Queenslanders and Blonde Aquitanes, followed by the excitement of interbreed champion of Beef Australia 2018 decider.
Catch all the highlights and upcoming events on The Beef Show. Fronted by former television personality Pete Lewis and this year joined by QCL’s own Lucy Kinbacher as co-host, The Beef Show is back by popular demand after making its debut at the Ekka last year. There will be two shows each day from Monday through to Thursday, offering a morning preview of the day ahead and an end of day highlights package.
Also back by popular demand for Beef 2018 is Queensland Country Life’s daily newspaper. Visitors to Beef Australia and the Rockhampton region won’t need to wait until Thursday to get all the news from the biggest beef event in Australia, with a complimentary, 40 page daily edition available from Tuesday through to Friday. Produced on site and featuring comprehensive coverage from across all the cattle competitions, seminars and social events, the QCL daily newspaper will accompany our extensive online and social media coverage to ensure visitors don’t miss a moment.
