MOUNT Garnet property Glen Eagle Station has been listed for sale at $4.85 million including 700 cattle and plant and equipment after it was passed in at auction through Kennedy Rural in Cairns on August 25.
The 19,540 hectare (48,283 acre) property is located about three hours west of Cairns, and has 750ha of arable land plus a centre pivot and irrigation licenses on the Herbert River.
Glen Eagle is estimated to carry 3200 adult equivalents or 2200 breeding cows.
The property is located 87km south of Mt Garnet by road and is made up of two grazing homestead perpetual leases.
The country is described as being about 40 per cent red loam rorest, 30pc basalt forest, 5pc open black soils, 4pc cleared red loam, 17pc granite and 3pc scalded or little grazing value.
Water is supplied from a 15km single frontage to the Herbert River, which also serves as part of the boundary. There are also six permanent springs, three dams, and six bores. There also 11 tanks and 18 troughs. The average annual rainfall is 875mm. There is a 16ha water license and a 270 megalitre water license. A Valley centre pivot irrigator is included in the sale.
In addition to the 20ha of farming under the centre pivot, there is a 4ha vermin proof fenced area with underground Mains. There is an area of 750ha that has previously been cultivated. About 150ha has been seeded with stylos and Rhodes grass.
Other improvements include a four bedroom homestead, three bedroom house, cottage, machinery shed and workshop, silos, and three sets of cattle yards.
There are 15 main paddocks plus holding paddocks and mustering squares.
There are 450 Brahman-cross cows plus calves at foot, 250 Brahman-cross heifers and 15 bulls included in the sale.
Plant and equipment includes a Case Magnum MX210 tractor, offset disc plough, Kinze 8-row planter, Caterpillar loader, Isuzu truck, two Land Cruiser utes, Honda quad bike, 3.4m Kuhn disc mower, Lely fertilizer spreader.
