The Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale has wrapped up for 2020, with event organizers and vendors praising the overall success of the sale, which exceeded all expectations.
Overall, the Brahman week sale at CQLX attracted more 175 new and returning vendors from across the country, offering 793 grey and red Brahman bulls.
The top 20 Bulls averaged $78,625, with 793 bulls averaging $12,406, with a 99 per cent clearance and total sale gross of $9,615,000.
The third day saw the last of the red Brahmans go through the ring, and bidding was energetic from the start.
A total of 313 red Brahmans were sold on Tuesday and Wednesday, to an average of $13,593 to gross $4.10 million.
The top priced red Brahman of $140,000 was sold by Beth and Remy Streeter, Palmvale Red Brahmans, Marlborough on the sale of Lot 718, Palmvale Odyssey.
The greys were just as successful on Monday and Tuesday, with 480 selling to average $11,677 and gross $5,605,000 million.
The top price grey brahman and a record-breaking top price of $210,000 was reached as Steve and Theresa Taylor, Clukan Brahmans, Jambin, sold Clukan Baobab 365/8 (IVF) (PS) to brothers Gavin Scott, Rosetta, Collinsville, and Owen Scott, Ruan, Clermont.
