People driving a car that was involved in a number of fuel drive-offs in western Queensland last month are now being sought by Queensland police as they continue to investigate the suspicious disappearance of 27-year-old Jeremiah Rivers near Noccundra.
They have released CCTV footage of a white Ford Focus with Queensland registration 600SZJ, whose occupants were involved in a number of fuel drive-offs, firstly at a service station on Murilla Street in Miles between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on October 18.
The same vehicle was seen leaving a Stafford Street service station in Thargomindah the following day on October 19 around 11.50am.
The vehicle has since been located in Coomera and seized.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jeremiah Rivers was last seen near Wippo Creek, approximately 20km south of Noccundra, on Monday, October 18, and police have said they are now treating his disappearance as suspicious.
The car in question is believed to have been travelling near Noccundra at the time of Mr Rivers' disappearance, and police are seeking public assistance to identify the vehicle's occupants, or anyone who may have observed the Ford Focus travelling around south western Queensland, as they may have information to assist.
Police said evidence continues to be analysed and evaluated against new information being received.
Mr Rivers, an Aboriginal man, 185cm tall with a slim build and a tattoo of a cross under his right arm, was part of a group of six other people from Victoria, who were camping and fishing on a property in the district when he went missing.
Investigators are attempting to identify all persons who were in the Wippo Creek - Noccundra area or may have travelled through western NSW and Queensland to Noccundra from October 16 to October 19, and are asking for those persons to make contact with police and provide details.
