4 Ways Charolais and NK Brahmans achieve perfect clearance rate at inaugural bull sale in Emerald

The Whitechurch family of 4 Ways Charolais, Havilah Park, Inverell, NSW, sold 25 bulls, representing 100 per cent clearance, attracting a strong average of $18,360, a stud-record of $52,500, and a total gross of $459,000.

An impressive line-up of Brahman bulls were also offered on the day by the NK Brahman stud, which also achieved 100pc sale clearance for their 28 bulls, averaging $5786, a top price of $17,000 and a gross of $162,000.

Yuleba buyers Ian and Ivan Price of Moongool Charolais, could not let the opportunity to add 4 Ways Qupid (PS) (SV) to their operation go by, making the top bid of $52,500 on Elite Livestock Auctions to secure the outstanding sire prospect.

4 Ways Qupid, a son of the $83,000 record priced Moongool Lunar Rise and out of 4 Ways Bella B2E, tipped the scales at 1020 kilograms and scanned 147 square centimetres for eye muscle area, 10mm and 7mm for P8 and rib fat, respectively.

Measuring 44cm in the scrotum, he also scored 6.2 per cent for intramuscular fat.

Qupid recently received reserve champion European bull and reserve interbreed bull in the Australian Community Media Sire Shootout competition.

Mac and Gayle Shann, Lamont stud, Cantaur Park, Clermont, were also on the hunt for new bloodlines for their operation, purchasing the second-top price Charolais bull 4 Ways Quantum (PS) (SV) for $40,000.

Sired again by Moongool Lunar Rise (AI) (P) and out of 4 Ways Refine K69E (P), 27-month-old was the heaviest bull offered on the day, tipping the scales at a whopping 1196kg.

Scanning 156sq cm for EMA, Quantum had P8 and rib fat depths of 14mm and 10mm respectively, IMF percentage of 6.3, and measured 45cm in the scrotum.

The sire-prospect also acquired fame at BEEF 2021, where he won senior and grand champion Charolais bull.

Kotri Grazing Co acquired the top priced NK Brahman bull called NK 1968 (PP) (SV) for $17,000.

The 24-month-old sire prospect is a son of Brahrock Native 5533 (IVF) (PS) and NK 1397 (PS), weighed in at 727kg.

Scanning 134sq cm for EMA,he had P8 and rib fat depths of 12mm and 8mm respectively, IMF percentage of 4.2, and measured 32cm in the scrotum.

Volume buyers took advantage of the quality on offer on the day, with Kotri Pastoral Company putting together a draft of seven bulls for an average of $7000.

Underdog Cattle Company, Collinsville, also purchased six Brahman bulls for an average of $5417, while Baldy Bay took five for an average of $4000, and Taranga Grazing Company also selected five to average $5100.
