Q.Will my ACM agricultural title have an App?
A. The Land, Queensland Country Life, Stock & Land, Stock Journal and Farm Weekly will each have their own Apps. Content from other ACM ag titles, such as Farmonline and North Queensland Register,  will be available through the apps.

 

Q. How do I access the App?
A. You can download the App from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store depending on your phone.

 

Q: Is the App available on iPhone and Android?
A: Yes. iPhone users will download the App from the Apple App Store. Android users will download the App from the Google Play Store. It will support versions: iOS 11+, Android 12+.


Q: Does it cost to download the App?
A: The App is free to download, but you must subscribe or be a current ACM agriculture subscriber to access the content.

 

Q. How much will an App subscription cost?
A. To subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store will cost $19.49 per month or $199.99 per annum. If you subscribe through our website you will pay $19 per month or $195 per annum and have access to the App as well.

 

Q: How do I subscribe to the App?
A: Once the App is downloaded, you will be asked to create an account using your email. Once you have created an account you will be taken to a subscription page, where you choose a monthly or annual subscription.

 

Q. What if I already subscribe to the ACM ag websites?
A. If you have a website subscription you will be asked to sign in with the same credentials you use for logging into the website. You will not have to pay a new subscription to access App content.


Q: What are the benefits of the App?
A: It will offer more features than any other rural and agricultural information Apps are currently offering. It will also have faster load times, fewer ads, notifications for breaking news & upcoming sales.


Q: What are the main features of the App?
A: The App will offer all the great content you can currently access on our sites. In addition you will be able to access the content of all five ACM agricultural titles through the App simply by switching titles within the App. It will also offer:

  • Personalised news feeds.
  • Localised 24-hour localised weather.
  • My Rainfall, enabling you to enter your own rainfall data and compare it to your district’s rainfall.
  • Access to the AgTrader platform from within the App.
  • Upcoming sales listings.
  • Access to the e-editions of the newspapers.

 

Q: What are the features of the Homepage of the App?
A: The Homepage features:

  • Personalised weather and 24-hour forecast for your selected location.
  • Latest news stories that have been curated individually for each ACM agricultural title’s App.
  • The My Rainfall chart of your primary rain gauge data.
  • Historical rainfall chart for your selected location.
  • Direct access to the AgTrader section of the App.
  • Direct access to the Upcoming Sales section of the App.


Q: What are the features of the News page of the App?
A: The News Page of the App is a never-ending scroll of news stories from the selected ACM agricultural title. Across the top of the page is a sliding carousel of news topics that you can select to see stories on a chosen topic. By clicking the cog in the top right corner, you can select the topics you are most interested in. The order of these topics can be changed by moving the topics up or down. 

 

Q: What are the features of the My Rainfall section of the App?
A: My Rainfall allows you to enter your own rainfall data under individual gauge names. You can enter multiple gauges. This data can then be viewed on a bar graph or line graph, by month and by year. You can also view the average rainfall for your selected location for the past 100 years. You can then compare your rainfall data to the district average by month and by year. Your rainfall data is fully editable. You can also download your rainfall data to an Excel file on your device, which shows data for the current and past years (depending on what years you entered data for). Past rainfall can be added as a monthly total to save time. There is no option to import past data from Excel, csv etc files.


Q: What are the features of the AgTrader section of the App?
A: You can view all the listings from the popular AgTrader site within the App. You can search and view by your most recent search, price, private sellers or dealers. It also has search filters for category, price, location, distance, condition and seller type. 

 

Q: What is in the Upcoming Sales section of the App?
A: This section is where you can find stud livestock, commercial livestock and clearing sales listings all across Australia. This fully searchable section will feature listings with details such as of date, time, location and all the specifics of each sale, such as breed, commercial lot numbers and machinery makes and models. You will be able to search for specific listings, and view sale listings by relevance (based on their recent searches) date and distance from the location set in the app. You will also be able to filter the listings by type of sale, location and date range.  


Q: Can I access all of the ACM agricultural titles?
A: You can access The Land, Queensland Country Life, Stock & Land, Stock Journal and Farm Weekly content within the App. These titles also feature content from other ACM ag sources such as farmonline.com.au, North Queensland Register and Good Fruit and Vegetables. 


Q: How do I access other ACM agricultural titles?
A: In the News page of the App, select the arrow next to the ACM agricultural title displayed and this will take you to a page that features five ACM agricultural titles. Click on the title you want and it will display the content of that ACM agricultural title. You can switch between titles at any time.

 

Q: Can I change my weather location?
A: Yes. On the home page or My Rainfall Page click the down arrow next to the location name displayed. You can search by town name or address. You can also use your current location. Recent searches will be saved and these can be clicked on to go to those locations.


Q: Can I save a story?
A: Yes. You can either slide the headline to the left and click on the save icon, or you can click on the save icon on the top right when you are in the stories. The stories are saved in the Saved section of the More section of the App.


Q: Can I search for a story?
A: Yes. Click on the search icon in the top right of the home page or top right of the news page. Enter the search word or term and click on the magnify icon to complete the search. The App will search even if you misspell a search word. Recent search words or terms are saved so you can click those terms to search them again.


Q: Can I share a story?
A: Yes. You can share a story by sliding the headline or picture to the left on the Home page or News page and clicking the share icon. You can also share by clicking the same icon on the top right when you are in a news article. Stories can be shared by multiple channels, concluding text message, email and social media. On mobile, the shared story will open in the app or take the user to the store if the app is not installed. On desktop, it will open the article on the website using the default browser.

 

Q: Can I personalise my news feed?
A: Yes. In the news page you can either click on the topics across the top of the page or enter the personalisation list through the cog on the top right to select the topics you are interested in and place them in the order you wish to view them.

 

Q: Can the app be used offline?
A: Recently viewed articles, AgTrader listings and Upcoming Sales that are cached to your device will be available to be accessed offline.


Q: What if I experience technical difficulties with the App?
A: In the event this occurs, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the app by going to the app store and clicking update.
  2. Restart your device (turn it off, then turn it on again)
  3. Click on the app icon to re-open the app.
