Brahman heifers hit $35,000 while their male counterparts sold to $26,000 at Saturday's PB Fenech Annual Sale, Sarina.
The overriding feature of the sale was the underpinning and support by repeat clientele from across Queensland that ended in a complete clearance.
In a catalogue breakdown 54 bulls set an overall average of $7777 while 14 heifers averaged $8892. A pair of semen packages averaged $4500 ($900 per straw) for vendors PBF.
Top selling heifer was the 13-month-old, Fawn Manso 491/23 sired by the homebred retainee, Johnny Cash Manso (JDH Mr Cash Manso 90/5). The heifer went to Rob and Sharon Flute, Chatfield stud, Charters Towers for $35,000. The Flute Family ended their day with three heifers for an average $16,000.
Garry and Katrina Lynch, Gracemere stud outlasted rivals to secure the day's top selling male, PBF Baymax Manso 413/22. Offered in a three quarter share full possession arrangement, Baymax Manso 413/22 hit the scales at 837 kilograms and delivered scans of 12mm and 9mm for P8 and rib fat, 144 square centimetres for eye muscle area and intra-muscular fat of 5.0 per cent. The Lynch family also purchased a daughter of PBF Currimundi for $6000.
Paddy Bussey, Gundamere, Nebo returned taking a pair for on average $13,500. These included the $23,000 Capt Hook 357/22, a two-year-old by the $210,000 Clukan Baobab 365/8. Sale opener Donald Manso 387/22 made $14,000 selling to the Camilleri family, Mackay. The Camilleri family filled their card with four bulls at an average $9000.
Lawnhill Riversleigh Stations, Mt Isa emerged as the major supporter of the sale taking 16 bulls for an average $5000. Appleton Cattle Company, Charters Towers returned accounting for five males for a $9000 average while Peter Byers, Corrick Plains, Giru claimed four for a $6500 average.
The Williams family, St Lawrence ended their day with eight bulls for an average $6375.
Taking four for a $9750 average was Mentmore Grazing, Pindi Pindi while long term supporters, the Goodwin family, Vandibeek Cattle, Alpha, were again active taking a trio for a $9667 average.
The Borg family, HarryBrandt, Nebo purchased a Thor son, PBF Jack Sparrow for $12 000, whilst Elsebach Grazing, Gayndah were active in the bidding to secure two bulls for an average $7500.
Reid Randell, Crinum stud, Tieri was also in the hunt for heifers taking three to average $9167 topping at $14,000 for 11-month-old daughter of the first release sire, M2 BRC Captain 518/1.
William and Megan Beale, Mamillae stud, Nindaroo secured a pair of heifers for $4000 each. Scott Angel, Glengarry S Stud, Kunwarara claimed the $11,000 Ariel Manso 425/22 out of a full sister to the leading sire, Currimundi R Manso 891/20.
The Pace family, Blue Water Hills, purchased the five straw semen package in Currimundi R Manso for $5000 while Thorpe Cattle Company, Yeppoon took the second package in PBF Argoon Manso 36/20 (IVF) for $4000.
Ken and Wendy Cole, Kenrol stud, Gracemere outlaid $10,000 to secure a JDH Woodson De Manso 206 daughter.
Liam McFarlane, Flinders International, returned acting on behalf of PC Ranch, Thailand, selecting a $5000 daughter of PBF Harper Manso 853/7.
