Jack Fogg grew up in the Brisbane Valley and was a regular face at the Toogoolawah cattle sales as a kid while his father worked at the saleyards.
But it wasn't until after he completed a two year traineeship with the ANZ bank, that Jack decided it was time to follow his passion and join the livestock agency business with Shepherdson and Boyd.
"I grew up around the Shepherdson and Boyd business partners Dick Boyd and Vince O'Brien, and they both always supported me and taught me a lot about the business," he said.
Jack has been a licensed livestock agent and auctioneer since 2012, after Dick and Vince allowed him to cut his teeth as auctioneer, selling the paintings and furniture at a clearing sale.
"It was a couple of weeks later at the Toogoolawah sale, with the last of the steers left to be sold that Dick said, 'Jack you're turn to sell' and handed me the loud haler," he said.
"It was hard being put on the spot like that, but certainly quite a memorable moment.
"At times both Dick and Vince have been tough bosses, but always fair."
Jack is extremely passionate about the beef industry and thoroughly enjoys keeping up to date with the evolving market options within the beef industry and strives to provide his clients with the best marketing solutions available to maximise their returns.
He is an accredited AuctionsPlus assessor and sells at the fortnightly Toogoolawah store sales and weekly at the Moreton sales.
Jack, along with his wife, Megan and their three children Ryland, Lucas and Ainsley, live just out of Toogoolawah, where they on run a Simmental and Simbrah breeding herd which includes a small stud herd breeding registered cattle.
He believes to keep at the forefront of any industry you need to ensure you continue to learn and evolve. Keeping this in mind, he uses meetings of both AgForce and Landcare to expand his knowledge and skills.
Jack was state runner-up in the 2017 Marsh Rural Ambassador Awards competing for Toogoolawah Show.
