WET weather is set to return from Sunday, according to the latest computer modeling from the Bureau of Meteorology.
BOM's four day forecast mapping for December 6-9 (above) shows much of Queensland will record a modest 5-10mm with much of the southern portion of the state receiving 15mm and some parts receiving up to 25mm.
The predicted rain follows record rainfalls for November, which have set much of the state up for an incredible summer season, but have prevented the completion of the winter crop harvest because of the ongoing saturated ground conditions in many areas.
On Sunday a trough is expected to develop over western Queensland with a slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms across most of the state. The chance of rain will increase to a medium to high in the south east.
From Monday to Wednesday BOM says there is a slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms across the state, increasing to a medium to high in parts of the far south. There will be a medium to high chance of showers about the North Tropical Coast.
The official weather forecaster says there are currently no significant tropical lows in the region and no cyclones are expected to develop during the next three days.
