Station mated heifers and calves averaged $3453/hd this week. Charbray/Charolais heifers from Dalby aged 24 to 36 months returned $3280/hd.
PTIC cows were back $269 to average $2377/hd. A line of 11-year-old Angus cows from Winton weighing 549.7kg liveweight returned $2300/hd and will travel to Southbrook.
PTIC heifers averaged $192 higher at $2573/hd. A line of 17 to 19-month-old Santa Gertrudis heifers from Goondiwindi weighing 454.3kg returned $2800/hd and will travel to Esk.
Heifers weighing between 200-280kg averaged 624c, up 20c. A line of seven to 10-month-old Droughtmaster backgrounder heifers from Barcaldine weighing 211kg returned 727c and will travel to Winton.
Heifers weighing over 400kg averaged 528c, up 31c. A line of 10 to 13-month-old Angus future breeders from Bell weighing 472.6kg returned $2850/hd or 603c and will travel to Goondiwindi.
Steers weighing between 200-280kg averaged 621c, back 22c. A large line of 121 head of Droughtmaster/Santa Gertrudis steers from Winton weighing 219.5kg liveweight returned 702c and will travel to Townsville.
Steers weighing between 280-300kg averaged 625c, up 35c. A line of 10 to 12-month-old Angus steers from Moonie weighing 289kg returned 712c or $2055/hd. The steers will travel to Bathurst, NSW.
SHEEP
Queensland sheep numbers increased by 2161 head last week to total 9261 head.
Merino wether lambs averaged $138/hd, back $2. A line of 615 Jan '21 drop Woolgrower wether lambs from Cunnamulla weighing 41.6kg liveweight returned $164/hd and will travel to Dunedoo, NSW.
Shedding breed lambs averaged $290/hd or 742c. Feb-Mar '21 drop mixed sex lambs from Chinchilla weighing 41.6kg liveweight returned $192/hd and will travel to Meandarra.
Merino wethers averaged $8 higher at $152/hd. Two lines of 800 wethers aged 2.4 - 2.5 and weighing 51.4kg liveweight were sold for $134 and $131/hd. The lines will travel to Charleville and Bathurst, NSW, respectively.
SIL Merino ewes increased by $11 to average $253/hd. The top price for the category was returned by a line of 540 four to five-year-old SIL ewes from Goondiwindi. The ewes weigh 68.5kg liveweight and sold for $335/hd to a buyer in Peak Hill, NSW.
