The small offering of registered females at the National Braford Sale was also met by interest from a widespread buying panel, with nine of 11 females selling for an average of $4889.
At the conclusion of the sale, one more heifer sold to result in an adjusted average of $4800 and 90pc clearance.
Topping at $6500, it was the Donovan family's Ashby Flamingo (P) that caught the eye of the Saunders family, Charlevue Cattle Co, Dingo.
The 14-month-old was sired by Double C M129 Milestone (P) and out of Ashby 48 (P).
Vendor Steven Donovan said they felt 'very honoured' by the result.
"She was an outstanding female for the breed, had a lot of very high quality characteristics and I'm sure that she'll go on to breed well," he said.
"It's always sad to part with those better females, but if you sell quality, you're 100pc guaranteed that they'll breed on for people."
The Saunders family selected three females in total, to average $5500.
Several lots after selling the market topper, the Donovan family paid the second-top money of $5500 to take home Double C R025 Elle (P), offered by Craig and Caroline Chad.
The 17-month-old is a daughter of Baroma Downs Rascal 458 (P) and Double C N114 Elle (P).
Overall, Mr Donovan said the sale was fantastic.
"There was quite a few new purchasers there over a widespread area, which was great," he said.
"And obviously there were the people that have been buying Brafords for a very long time, they came back again in strength so that was very positive, and it was a solid sale from start to finish."
