BULLS hit $20,000 to average $6028 at the Roma Brahman and Queenslander Sale.
Conducted by Elders in conjunction with online platform AuctionsPlus, the 69 head multi-vendor sale resulted in a 75 per cent clearance.
In breakdown the 57 Brahmans averaged $5927 to top $13,000 three times, while the 12 Queenslanders averaged $6409 with the breed also delivering the $20,000 sale top. Nine of the bulls sold online.
Sale topper was the very impressive polled scurred Samari Plains Lawson N100M, which was offered by Keith and Annabelle Wilson, Samari Plains, Roma. The 22 month old sold to repeat buyers John and Lorraine Creevey, Lucknow, Augathella.
Bred from Samari Nelson - a homozygous polled (PP) bull - Lawson was offered with plenty of firepower, including 4.1pc intramuscular fat, 9mm of fat at the P8, 7mm at the rib, and 87pc morphology.
Queenslanders are a pink nosed, polled, tropical breed showing Brahman characteristics.
First of the three Brahman to hit the $13,000 top price was the aptly named red PP Samari S Ketchup, presentedd by Ben and Sally Sweetland, Samari S Stud, Roma.
Bought by Warrick and Kel Freeman, Melleebee Downs, Wallumbilla, Ketchup entered the salering at 712kg and had a 38cm scrotal measurement, 5.1pc IMF, a 13mm PB and 11mm rib.
The Freemans also paid the top Brahman money for a 20 month old Samari Plains herd bull by Samari Plains Schultz. That bull had 4.9pc IMF and 11mm and 9mm fat measurements.
Also making $13,000 was the Sweetland's Samari S Karate, which sold to Boonah. Another PP bull, the 660kg calf getter by Fern Hills B Romeo, had 4.9pc IMF.
Third top price of the sale at $11,500 was Samari S Kyle, a polled scur bull by Monty, with excellent fertility figures. Kyle went on AuctionsPlus to Lisa Daly from Wirrialpa, Hernani near Ebor, NSW.
Kevin and Emily Ware, Hill Grazing, Wombalbank, Mitchell, paid $8500 for the grey NK 6281, presented by NK Brahmans, Theodore.
Murray and Zita Bonisch, Lauma, Injune, bought three including Crown JA Pittsburgh for $8000. That horned Grey Brahman by NCC Cincinatti was presented by Jason Waugh and Arlie Becker, Tallawata, Dulacca.
Shawn Dobbin, Surat, paid $7000 for the polled scurred Samari Plains Willoughby.
Whitton Pastoral Company, Myrtleville, Injune, emerged as the volume buyer with seven for an average $4929.
Stephen and Suzie Sheppard, Amby Downs, Mitchell, bought six including the red JNH Houdini from the Titmarshs, Kyilla, Condamine, for $7000.
Brett Griffin, Sydeva, Yuleba, bought five, as did the Hughes, Delalah Station, Wanaaring in far north west NSW.
