The laneways were full of prospective buyers looking at sires for the 2021 Bulliac Angus on property bull sale held at Wandaloo near Miles on Thursday
Strong demand for quality genetics pushed the sale to a Bulliac record top price of $40,000 and recorded an average of $15,065 with 76 bulls selling for a 100 per cent clearance.
Taking the top honours at the sale was Bulliac Roger Ramjet R17, a 15-month-old bull who sold to Mark Little and family, Little Pastoral Pty Ltd, Kolane, Wandoan.
Ramjet R17 was sired by the Bulliac show bull, Bulliac Napoleon N126, and out of Bulliac Mildred G32
The Little family are repeat buyers of the Bulliac Angus bulls and were very happy to reinvest in the studs sires.
Mr Little said his temperament was outstanding and then coupled that with his shape, squareness and length he was the complete package.
He really liked his style of him and thought he would suit their commercial herd, an Angus and Santa, Hereford cross, where they try and fatten them to two-and-half-years-old and sell directly to the meatworks.
The second top bull was Bulliac Quarterback Q263 sired by Bulliac Novus N107 out of Bulliac Lorna E10, sold for $26,000 to Andrew Duke,Benandre, Ram Cattle Services, Maidenhead near Moree, NSW.
Jack Henshaw, agent for Ram Cattle Services, said he was a complete package, low birth weight bull to go over heifers and he had the power, muscle thickness and phenotype suited to produce heavy weaners.
TPG Rural 1 Pty Ltd, Mt Alford purchased via Elite Livestock Auctions and secured Bulliac Ravenclaw R8 sired by Musgrave 316 Stunner out of Bulliac Topsy N41 for $24,000
The Keech and McKenzie families, Narran Lake Pastoral Co, Narran Lake, Walgett, NSW, took home an impressive line up of eight bulls to average $11750
Ray Scott Pastoral, Fairfield Station, Bauhinia purchased a total of seven bulls to average $14,428
Another long term repeat buyer was Appleton Cattle, Alpha who purchased five bulls to average $14,800
Elders auctioneer Anthony Ball said it was a tremendous result for the Hill family of the Bulliac Angus stud and grossed over the million mark.
The sale was solid all the way through and a good spread of buyers with good support from NSW online and Western Queensland all the way out to Blackall, up to Hughenden, Bauhinia and good support from local buyers.
There was strong support from repeat buyers which was a testament of the quality of bulls that were presented by Bulliac.
Mr Ball also acknowledge the strong support for online bidding with both Auctions Plus and Elite Livestock Auctions.
