A diverse range of top quality genetics are encompassed in the 93 lot draft catalogued for the 29th annual Heartland Santa Gertrudis Bull Sale being held on Wednesday, September 8, from 12pm at the Roma Saleyards.
Sale group publicity officer Chick Gadsby said the 79 bulls and 14 heifers being offered by the Queensland and New South Wales sale vendors will suit any type of breeding program.
"In total 62 Classified S bulls, and 17 commercial sire prospects, 13 Classified S heifers and one S Bar heifer, have been selected," Mrs Gadsby said.
Last year, at the then newly opened Roma stud selling ring, the bids came in thick and fast to ensure a successful sale result, with 95 per cent of 74 bulls offered clearing to return an average of $8943, topping at $19,000.
"The agents have provided the sale group with plenty of positive feedback from their clients regarding the success they've had with the bulls purchased at the sale. It's rewarding to see clients selling the progeny through the saleyards or sale ring.
"The 2021 draft has been well prepared for the sale and they're ready work straight away. With the strong prices for commercial cattle continuing to roll in, the vendors are optimistic for another solid sale result."
The sale group are offering free freight to Longreach, Toowoomba, Charleville, Emerald, Taroom, St George and Injune.
As an added incentive, one lucky bull buyer will win one tonne of Riverina Stockfeeds product of their choice in a draw at the sales' conclusion.
"You only need to purchase a bull for your chance to win. Each bull purchased equals one ticket in the draw.
"The sale group would sincerely like to thank Riverina Stockfeeds, Gregory Fabrication at Clermont, Allflex, Roma Explorers Inn and Restaurant, Topx Roma and PJH Livestock and Property Roma, for their continued support of the sale."
The combined draft will be penned and available for inspection from day prior to the sale up to when the sale begins. Those unable to attend can watch and bid through the AuctionsPlus online bidding platform, where the catalogue, with videos and photos of the sale lots, is now available to view.
The catalogue can also be accessed through the Topx, PJH Livestock and SGBAA websites, and the Heartland Santa Gertrudis Breeders Group Facebook page.
The Roma Saleyards will operate under its standard Covid Safe protocols. All attending the sale will be required to sign-in upon entry.
