Combined agents at Nebo Saleyards saw a larger yarding of 1575 head on April 16. Cattle were drawn from local and surrounding areas, highlighted by a top quality line of 506 steers, account Strathdee, and 472 heifers, account Fort Cooper and Kainga.
The quality line-up of cattle on hand attracted a strong buyers' panel which had them travelling from far and wide to attend, as well as attracting plenty of local competition. The market was extremely strong across all descriptions of cattle, with saleyards records achieved.
Steers over 500kg sold to 406c, average 400c, steers 400-500kg made 402c, average 390c, steers 320-400kg reached 506c, average 470c, steers 250-320kg made 562c, average 521c and steers under 250kg sold to 570c, average 538c.
Cows over 520kg made 268c, average 267c, cows 400-520kg reached 270c, average 267c, while cows under 400kg sold to 256c, average 237c.
Heifers 400-450kg sold to 358c, average 343c, heifers 300-400kg made 484c, average 419c, heifers 250-300kg reached 500c, average 442c, and heifers under 250kg made 530c, average 463c.
Cows and calves sold to $2240/unit.
Bulls over 600kg made 326c, average 322c, and bulls under 450kg sold to 440c, average 381c.
