Thanks to Aussie Farmers' Hamper for a Farmer initiative, at least 257 families still deep in the grip of drought will enjoy a happier Christmas.
Thousands more still face going without this holiday season though, according to Aussie Helpers CEO Tash Kocks, unless everyday Australians can help with a donation.
After an unprecedented seven years of drought many producers couldn't justify the expense of presents or Christmas lunch, she said.
On top of that, this year had proven to be one of the most gruelling for those already struggling to make ends meet.
"They've battled seasonal labour shortages, volatile commodity prices, international trade tensions and recession all while recovering from devastating bushfires and one of the longest droughts in living memory," Ms Kocks said.
"Many farmers have exhausted their superannuation and savings, just to stay afloat and feed stock.
"Farmers keep our fridges and pantries full but sometimes struggle to feed themselves. It's heartbreaking the dire reality of their situations."
With support from Woolworths and Real Pet Food, Aussie Helpers' Christmas hampers are filled with everyday pantry essentials and a few festive treats to ensure isolated farming families can celebrate the festive season.
Its similar Voucher for a Farmer initiative allows donors to provide producers in distress with the means to purchase essential items and a few gifts from local businesses, supporting rural economies.
The vouchers can be used within local communities whenever and wherever producers and their families want, giving them flexibility to spend the money on individual needs whether it's fuel, food or gifts.
Gift vouchers can be purchased in time for Christmas and are tax deductible, and hampers are available at $50 and $100.
Last year the Aussie Helpers Christmas campaign delivered more than 1000 hampers to farmers all over Australia.
"I'm constantly in awe of the Australian spirit we see shine through no matter how bad it gets but this festive season if we can dig deep it will make a real difference to Australians at the heart of our country," Ms Kocks said.
