PTIC heifers sold between $1720 and $2800/head to average $2215/head - up $96 on the previous week. Angus PTIC heifers from Goondiwindi aged 22 to 24 months weighing 403kg returned $2150/head and will journey to a buyer in Millmerran.
Heifers 200-280kg sold from 360c to 558c/kg, averaging 463c/kg, up 11c. Somerset Trading Company, Durong, secured the top price with their line of 12 to 14-month-old Gelbvieh/Red Angus heifers weighing 217kg.
Heifers 280-330kg sold from 392c to 466c/kg, averaging 440c/kg, up 15c. Hereford NSM yearling heifers from Drillham aged 12 to 14 months weighing 280kg returned equal top price of 466c/kg and will journey Alpha.
Steers 200-280kg sold from 329c to 676c/kg, averaging 530c/kg, up 27c. A line of 10 to 12-month-old Angus weaner steers from Goondiwindi weighing 241kg returned 602c and will journey to Jandowae.
Steers 280-330kg sold between 455c and 501c/kg, averaging 479c/kg, up 5c. Hereford/Santa Gertrudis steers from Condamine aged 11 to 14 months weighing 290kg returned 489c/kg and will journey to Glenmorgan. A line of Hereford cross steers from Chinchilla aged 11 to 14 months and weighing 307kg returned 480c/kg and will travel to a buyer in Mount Emilyn.
SHEEP
Queensland sheep numbers totalled 12,137 head last week, a 4300 head decrease from the week before.
Ewes with lambs at foot sold from $240 to $400/head, to average $350/head, up $2/head. The top price was achieved by a line of Australian White/White Dorper station mated ewes with LAF from Morven. The ewes are one to five years old, weigh 56kg and their LAF are two to 20 weeks old and average 32kg.
Merino wethers sold from $135 to $172/head, averaging $147/head, up $2/head. A line of 15 to 16-month-old woolgrower wethers from Toobeh weighing 48kg returned $142/head and will travel to a buyer in Narromine, NSW.
Store lamb prices improved 9c and averaged 410c/kg, selling from 331c to 704c/kg. Aug/Sep '20 drop Merino/Border Leicester crossbred wether lambs from Thallon which weighing 29kg returned 447c/kg.
