Downs Rugby has wrapped up a remarkable year to complete all active competitions. Downs Rugby would like to thank all affiliated clubs and schools with their volunteer workforces and executive committees.

We also thank the Darling Downs Rugby Referee Association and Sports First Aid, our sub-committee members and board of directors, led by chairman Rob Johnston.

This year has shown the true unrelenting character of the rugby community to shrug aside the drought, bushfires and pandemic to enjoy our great grassroots game. Thank you Queensland Rugby Union: Gaven Head and David Southwood.

Senior rugby kicks off again next year from Saturday April 10. Goondiwindi, Dalby and Gatton are confirmed to re-join the senior competitions. The QRCU Country Championships will be held March 26-28, 2021 for Downs senior representative teams. Downs Rugby hosts the Teenage Boys State Championships July 2-4, 2021 at Downlands College. All information at the bottom of the homepage: www.downsrugby.com.au.

South West 7s competition featuring 44 school-based teams from Warwick to Chinchilla culminated in the grand finals earlier this month at Gold Park.

The Downs Rugby Teenage Boys Competition started pre-pandemic in February, resuming October 9 and the entertaining grand finals were held Saturday November 14 at Gold Park.
