Australian Dairy Farmers board to be elected via video conferencing on Thursday, November 26.

Australian Dairy Farmers is one of the lead organisations for the national Dairy Plan and as such, its board members have significant influence.

Last week, ADF announced the final candidate nominations for its upcoming elections to be held as part of the AGM, which will be held via video conferencing scheduled for Thursday, November 26.

The people standing for the ADF board are Brian Tessmann, Glenn Britnell, John Versteden and Ross McInnes.

The ADF board plays an active decision-making role in the strategic direction of ADF and the Dairy Plan. This is extremely important to our members, especially with the industry restructuring that is currently being discussed.

As we have also done for the Dairy Australia board nominations, we've asked the ADF board candidates a few questions. These questions are:

  • Why are you standing for the ADF board?
  • How will you ensure that regional dairy farmer priorities are addressed by ADF?
  • What restructuring do you believe is required for the dairy industry?
  • How will you ensure that all dairy farmer funded bodies are accountable back to farmers?

All candidates have been interviewed by an ADF selection panel. Each candidate has received a copy of the selection panel's assessment of their performance against the 15 selection criteria.

QDO will publish each candidates' answers to the questions above, their individual CVs as well as the ADF selection panel's assessment if the candidate allows.

We appreciate that all candidates are busy so participation is at the candidates' own discretion, but I for one will be interested to see what the candidates have to say.

The ADF AGM will be held using Vero Voting, an online video conferencing tool that provides a secure voting mechanism. If you cannot attend, please pass your proxy to either myself or another QDO state councillor who can vote on your behalf.
