Feedlot buyers and southern competition led the buying field to achieve an excellent result in the dry south east Queensland area.

Milk-tooth Charbray steers from the Clifford family, Thangool, sold for $1780/head. Tandora, Maryborough, sold 18-month steers for $1680 and Charolais-cross steers for $1240.

Ninbah Pastoral Co, Beaudesert, sold 14-month Simmental-cross steers for $1600 and $1570. Trevor Kellaway, Hazledean, had 14-month Santa/Angus steers for $1530.

Cecil Heit, Woodford, sold 10-12-month Braford steers for $1360. W and A Oxenford sold 10-month Angus-cross steers for $1350. Watonga Grazing Co, Middlemount, sold Hereford steer calves for $1410 and $1380. Brisbane Valley Pastoral Co sold Droughtmaster steers 12-14 months for $1410 and $1280. Wade and Megan Stretton had Charolais-cross steers 10 months for $1320.

J and R Lowther, Jimna, had 5-6-month Angus-cross steers for $920. D and S Kelly, Nanango, sold Speckled Park-cross steers 18 months for $1460. Darren Varley had Droughtmaster-cross steers for $1300.

Ray Richards sold 8-month Charolais steers for $1100. B and B Pastoral Co, Wamuran, sold Charolais-cross steers 12-14 months for $1260 and Angus-cross for $1300 and $1250.

Feedlot heifers were in great demand, lead by Merv Burow with milk-tooth Charolais-cross heifers for $1610. J and N Knight, Esk, sold 18-month Santa heifers for $1450.

Tandora Charolais-cross heifers sold for $1450 and 8-month grey Brahman heifers for $1060. Charbray and Angus-cross heifer calves 5-6 months in light condition sold for $860, $840 and $890.

Brisbane Valley Pastoral Co sold 14-month Droughtmaster heifers for $1320 and $1260. Peter Simpson, Commissioner Flat, sold a quality line of Brangus heifers for $1340.

W and A Oxenford sold 10-12-month heifers for $1230. Watonga Grazing Co sold Droughtmaster/Hereford-cross heifer weaners for $1300, $1210 and $1070. A and A Fitzgerald, Esk, sold Charolais-cross heifer calves for $1010.

KDS Partnership had Charolias-cross heifers 10 months for $1000. Mixhill of Conondale had Charolais-cross heifer calves for $1030. G and L Nugent sold Droughtmaster heifers 8-10 months for $1050. B and B Pastoral Co, Wamuran, had Angus-cross heifers 12 months for $1220.

Quality Brahman-cross cows and calves from Woodford sold for $1830/unit. Light condition Charolais-cross cows and calves sold for $1480. PTIC Charbray cows from Bellmere Lodge sold for $1660.

Mary Birchley, Eidsvold, sold a good quality line of PTIC Charbray and Brahman-cross cows, fetching $1430, $1410, $1390, the best results for the Birchley family for a long time. Ivery Downs sold a line of light conditioned empty Angus-cross heifers for $1050.
