There was a large increase in supply to 819 head at Warwick this week. Buyer attendance was good with a return of a full panel of export processors plus the usual feed and trade buyers and restockers.
Overall quality was generally good with a large sample of heavy grown steers and bullocks penned, plus a better quality line up of heavy weight cows.
Prices improved a further 23c/kg on light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market also lifted in price. Yearling heifers to feed averaged 18c better. Cows generally gained 6c to 7c and more on plain conditional lines.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 479c and made to 534.2c. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 440c to average from 412c to 420c. Heavy weight yearling steers to the trade made to the occasional 414.2c.
Yearling heifers under 200kg returning to the paddock made to 500c, while yearling heifers under 280kg made to 442c to average 426c. Yearling heifers to feed made to 420c to average 400c. Heavy weight yearling heifers to the trade made to an isolated 420c.
Bullocks made to 366c with a good sample averaging 360c. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors made to 264c to average 262c. Good heavy weight cows averaged 297c and sold in pen lots to 306.2c. Heavy weight bulls made to 333c.
