There were 402 cattle offered at Warwick this week.

Numbers reduced by 230 head to 402 at the Warwick cattle sale this week. The usual panel of export, feed operators and restocker buyers were present and operating.

Young cattle were in the largest numbers, and overall quality was not up to the previous week's standard; this was reflected in prices. A small sample of heavy weight cows could not maintain the levels of the previous sale and lost 13c/kg.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 510.2c, to average 452c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 408c to 422c, with sales to 432.2c. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 405.2c, to average 383c. A small selection of heavy weight yearling steers to the trade made to 388c.

Light weight yearling heifers sold to restockers at an average of 404c and made to 432.2c. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 391c to 396c and made to 406c.

A handful of medium weight plain condition cows sold to restockers at an average of 245c. Good heavy weight cows to export processors made to top of 275.2c to average 269c. Heavy weight bulls made 320.2c.
