A good yarding of cattle saw rates continue to climb at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. All descriptions of cattle continued to meet strong competition, with western buyers prominent.

STS Trust, Ocean View, sold Charolais bulls for $2850, $2000, $1900 and $1690. Christine Ledger, Stanmore, sold Limousin cows for $1550 and $1360. Geoffrey Lyttle, Draper, sold Angus steers for $1720 and $1340 and Angus cows for $1340. Sommer Brothers, Maleny, sold a line of Friesian and Jersey cows for $1490 and Fresian cross yearlings, with steers making $950 and heifers $920.
Gregory Miller, Laceys Creek, sold cows to a top of $1650 and Charolais cross weaners, eight to 10 months, with steers making $1100 and $960, and heifers $940. Steven and Kathryn Smart, Laceys Creek, sold 18 to 20-month-old Charolais steers for $1590. Maria Bulmer, Caboolture, sold Brahman steers for $1160.

Jason Schmidt, Mt Samson, sold a line of Euro vealer heifers for $820.
