Both sale averages and clearance rates jumped significantly when compared to 2019 result at the last week's annual Roma Brangus sale.
Despite a reduced offering, bulls sold to an average of $7449 - up $1388 on last year - for a clearance of 89 per cent, while heifer averages experienced a huge jump of $2862 to land at $5214.
Sale honours at $17,000 went to the 30-month-old entry, Lazy S Danny Boy, offered by Sue Fawcett, Lazy S Stud, Condamine.
The 945kg entry by Bonox 823 delivered fat depth scans of 17mm and 10mm, an eye muscle area of 130 square centimetres and an intramuscular fat of 5.7pc.
Purchaser Adrian Forrest, Bellona, Augathella, said the sale topper will commence duties in the Gidyea stud run on Bellona where he will be utilised with others in the production of replacement bulls for their commercial herd and paddock sale bulls.
Lazy S averaged $9667 for their three bulls. This result included the $7500 Lazy S Derby, a 32-month-old paternal half to the top seller that weighed 738kg.
Taking home Derby was Lex Jukes and family, Tregoning, Morven.
Adrian and Megan Forrest signed off on four bulls throughout the sale at an average $9750, while Lex Jukes and family, Tregoning, Morven secured 10 bulls for a $7300 average.
Next best were two bulls at $16,000.
First of these was full US blood, Diamond Valley Maverick 607Q2 (ET) offered by Matthew Sirett and Jodie Renwick, Diamond Valley Stud, Gatton.
The 18-month-old weighed 624kg and delivered scans of 12mm and 11mm, an EMA of 124sq cm and an IMF of 5.9pc.
Taking home the youngster was Edward and Kara Quinn, Voewood Stud, Calliope.
Two bulls from Diamond Valley averaged $15,000. Selecting the other Diamond Valley entrant, Wrangler, in a three quarter share and full procession arrangement was Hardy and Amanda Woodard, Taloumbi Stud, Eidsvold.
Late in the sale, the other $16,000 price tag was attained in the form of Kulkyne Professor P96.
Offered by Henry Sinnamon, Kulkyne Stud, Jackson, Professor P96 was the first of the Triple B Lawman L572 (AI) (ET) sons and hit the scales at 786kg. At 23-months-old, the sire prospect had an EMA of 133sq cm, fat scans of 12mm and 9mm and an IMF of 4.3pc.
Taking home Professor were Juanita and Lachlan Trustum, Weona Stud, Leeville, New South Wales.
Bruce and Leanne Woodard, Bonox Stud, Taroom, kicked off the sale attaining a $10,400 average for their five bulls.
Sale opener, Bonox 1186 a 35-month-old by the $46,000, Charlevue Centre Time made $14,000 selling to Ian Farmer, Uralba, Thangool.
Weighing 900kg, the bull had a 127sq cm EMA, fat of 10mm and 7mm and an IMF of 4.6pc.
Bonox also sold the two top sellers in the female section of the offering, Bonox B1233 and Bonox B1225 both made $6500 each.
Sale opener, 10-month-old Bonox B1233 sold to Brian Hartman and Jacinta Fletcher, Valley View Stud, Dungowan, NSW, while stablemate 11-month-old B1225 sold to Warren and Rachel Holzwart, Western Force Stud, Emerald.
Ian and Sharon Bush, Maytoe, Alpha, selected four bulls to average them $9750.
These included the $12,000, 24-month-old proven sire, Elara Barry (S) catalogued by Mark and Lynda Bauer, Elara Stud, Laidley.
Another at $12,000 was 34-month-old Bonox 1212 selling to Jamie and Jane Saunders, Charlevue Stud, Dingo.
Herd bulls topped at $10,000 for a 35-month-old from Bonox selling to Adrian and Megan Forrest, Bellona, Augathella.
