The Nioa Pastoral Company Santa Gertrudis Stud joined forces with the Big S Sale group and hosted an on-property bull and female sale at the picturesque historical Talgai Homestead near Allora, on Thursday.

For Rob and Eliza Nioa, it was their first on-property sale, while it was 46th Annual Big S Group sale, who had relocated from the Toowoomba Showgrounds to join the the new venue.
Overall 32 bulls sold to average $6000, topping at $14,000, one cow and calf package sold to $5000 and two PTIC heifers topped at $6000 to average $5000.
The top priced bull at $14,000 was Rosehill Q76 (ET) (AI) (P) bought by Luke Baker, Annabranch, Wandoan.
He was offered by Big S members John and Rosemarie McCarthy, Rosehill Santa Gertrudis Stud, Clifton.
Rosehill Q76 displayed great length, good temperament, depth and muscle, which appealed to Mr Baker.
Mr Baker, who will sell bulls for the first time at this year's Wandoan Santa Gertrudis Sale, said he would use this sire over Bullamakinka bred stud females.
The second top price at $13,500 was Nioa Persecutor P15 (P), was offered by sale hosts Rob and Eliza Nioa, and was bought by Ashley Daley's Arrabury Pastoral Company.
Persecutor is a bull with a strong poll headed bull with a clean smooth coat and showing plenty of depth and is heading to Cluny Station, Windorah.
Arrabury Pastoral Company purchased five bulls for an average of $6400, all bound for either Cluny or Mt Leonard Station.
Pat McMahon, Killarney paid $10,500 for Nioa Pistol P07 (P), a son of Wave Hill Jager J14.
Repeat buyer Barry Genrich,Clifton who finished with six bulls to average $4000 each.
Long standing Big S clients John and Kate McLoughlin, Rainbow, Rolleston have bought at every sale for past 46 years, and this year they selected four bulls, paying a top of $8000 for Rosehill Peter (ET) (AI), a son of Rosehill Jameson.
Top priced female at $6000 was Santalands Roxy (P ) in-calf to Warenda Mighty offered by Glenn and Fran Holt, selling to the Christensen family, Avocavale, Linville.
Gyranda Pastoral Co presented Gyranda Paris P321 who sold with a day-old bull calf at foot for $5000 to Shamrock Santa Gertrudis stud, near Gatton.
Big S Group publicity officer Glenn Holt said the group were extremely pleased with the support received and the excellent clearance on the day.
"The future of the sale looks very promising at Talgai Homestead with the great support of the Nioa family and buyers," Mr Holt said.
Nioa spokesperson Shannon Gardener said overall they were very happy with the sale results.
