Vendors of the Eidsvold Charolais Bull Sale could not contain their delight when 55 bulls sold to an average of $10,188 and topped at $20,000.
Stud breeders Alan and Natalie Goodland, Clare Charolais, and Ross and Paula Warren, Elridge/Sirrah Charolais, assembled the quality offering at the Eidsvold Saleyards on Wednesday.
Guest auctioneer Wayne York wasted no time in getting the sale off to a flying start, and the top price bull sold early in the catalogue.
Paying the $20,000 price tag for Clare Panther (P) (RF) a son of Moongool Kartel was the Melville family,Biloela.
Panther is in the top five per cent for 200 and 400 day growth, and is extremely quite, well muscled, and has great balance and comes from a dam who is a great breeder.
He entered the sale ring with a weight of 992 kilograms, and has an eye muscle area of 142 square centimetres
Next at $16,000 was Clare President (P), a son of Glenlea Honourable, who was bought by Craig Dakin of Patterson.
The price tag of $15,000 was achieved twice.
First it was Clare Phoenix (P) selling to Bettafield Charolais, Emerald, while Malarga Grazing Co, Malarga, Brooweena, outlaid the same money for Clare Patrick (R/F).
Two bulls made $14,000 each.
First to sell was Eldrige Prince (P) (RF), a son of Ascot Knockout K109, who was bought by Heritage Trust, Bundaberg, while Eldridge Percy (P) (RF) was bought by Wangella Pastoral, Gympie.
Sale spokesperson Alan Goodland said both vendors are very passionate about the cattle they breed - "and what a day we have had - it makes it all worthwhile to do what we do".
"We had never seen this result coming to us in a million years, so thank you everyone who has supported our sale," he said.
