The multi-vendor and multi-breed Advance Annual Bull Sale saw 69 bulls average $6159 and top $11,000 with just one lot passing in at the Roma Saleyards selling complex on Monday.
41 Black Angus bulls in the draft averaged $6451, six Red Angus bulls averaged $5416, 20 Charolais bulls averaged $6575 and three Droughtmaster bulls averaged $4833.
The Appleton family, Islay Plains, Clermont paid the top price of $11,000 to secure 25-month-old Acacia Pierson P42 offered on account of Michael and Dot Duggan, Acacia Angus, Killarney.
Pierson weighed in at 912kg and boasted one of the highest EMA's in the draft at 133sq.cm with a scrotal measurement of 40.5cm.
Speaking on behalf of the vendors, Stephen Hayward said Pierson was a complete package with structural soundness and good skin and hair type.
The Appleton family purchased a total of nine Angus bulls averaging $7000, including the $9500 K5x Pablo P55, offered by Kellie Smith and Stephen Haywood, Allora.
The Appletons also paid $9500 for Acacia Pace P14, a 25-month-old, 984kg bull with a scrotal measurement of 41cm.
The volume buyer was the Warrian family, who purchased 11 Angus and Charolais bulls averaging $6545 for their Injune property, Springrock.
That included the $9500 Charolais bull, Brendale Peewee, who was offered on account of Brendan and Marnie Scheiwe of the Brendale Charolais Stud, Tallegalla.
A younger bull at 23-months, Peewee weighed 876kg and had an EMA of 142sq.cm.
Also paying $9500 for a bull was Denis Ward, Campo Santo Grazing, Shantovale, Roma.
They secured the 22-month-old Brendale Palmer (P), sired by Colinta Levi, who weighed in at 910kg and had an EMA of 146sq.cm.
The Ward family took home two other Brendale Charolais bulls for $8000 each.
NR Harland and G Humphreys, Barradine, paid $9500 for the 902kg Charolais Brendale Payout.
Glenn Fanning bought four Angus bulls averaging $4875 for his Warwick operation.
The Forrest family, Bellona, Augathella, paid an average of $7833 for three K5X Red Angus bulls offered by Kellie Smith and Stephen Hayward.
A total of 36 bidders were registered for the sale with significant support coming from AuctionsPlus.
