Export buyer attendance was generally good however as one processor stepped out, another stepped in. The usual feed and trade buyers were present and operating, and there was strong support from interstate restockers on young cattle.
Light weight young cattle returning to the paddock sold to a dearer trend. Yearling steers and heifers to feed for the domestic market averaged 9c to 11c/kg better. The smaller number of cows penned lifted in price by 10c and up to 20c on restocker lines.
Vealer heifers to restockers made to 428.2c, and a couple to the trade made to 421.2c, and feeder classes averaged 402c.
Yearling steers under 200kg returning to the paddock made to 495.2c to average 478c. Yearling steers under 280kg made to 460c to average 415c.
Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 383c to 405c with sales to 416.2c. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 377c and made to 390.2c.
Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged 403c and sold to 420c. Yearling heifers to the local trade market averaged 408c and made to 426c. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 397c to average 382c.
Heavy grown steers to export processors made to 359.2c. The occasional heavy grown heifer made to 345.2c.
Medium weight plain condition cows to restockers averaged 283c and made to 285c. The best of the medium weight cows made to 295.2c, and good heavy cows averaged 289c. Heavy bulls made to 319.2c.
