Sullivan Livestock yarded 2040 cattle at their Gympie cattle sale on Monday where the market remained firm for all descriptions.

Cattle were drawn from Childers, Booubyjan, Tansey, Goomeri, Kilkivan, Woolooga, Conondale, Maleny, Kenilworth and all local areas.
Charbray feeder steers from Neville and Lyndall Ensbey, Kandanga, made 376c/kg to return $1649 and $1594. Charbray steers from Peter Williamson, Kia Ora, sold for 380c ($1545). The Maher family, Pinbarren, sold Droughtmaster steers for 370c ($1531 and $1537).
Droughtmaster cross steers from the Benn family sold for 382c ($1356 and $1174). Charbray cross steers from NB and LR Hayward made 368c or $1413. Droughtmaster cross steers from the Hebberman family made 384c ($1162 and $1024), while the Brangus cross steers made 386c ($1047). Charbray weaner steers from R and A Bambling, Sexton, made 435c ($1147).
Charbray steers from the North family, Gunalda, made 456c ($1094 and $950). Santa cross steers from D and S Sallaway sold for 428c ($1049). Fitzgerald and Co, Kilkivan, sold Droughtmaster steers for 440c ($863). Generally better quality weaner steers sold from 410c to 456c.
Charolais cross heifers from Noosa Natural Farm, Yalanga, Kin Kin, made 352c ($1304) and 364c ($1122). Bazadaise cross heifers from K and B Lacey, Wonga, sold to a top of 372c ($1064). Brangus cross heifers from Parshot Pty Ltd, Imbil, sold for 364c ($1072).
Droughtmaster cross heifers from Brad Millard, Beenham Valley, made 380c ($1202). Droughtmaster cross weaner heifers from G and T Walsh, Amamoor, made 374c ($1016). Charbray heifers from the North family sold for 404c to return $902 and $835. Brahman heifers from P and K Bognuda, Kilkivan, made 384c ($937).
Limousin cross heifers P and S Johnston, Kin Kin, made 376c ($905). Quality Droughtmaster heifers from Gungalla Park, Belli, sold to a top of 426c to return $876. Overall vealer heifers selling to processors sold from 345c to 382c, while weaner heifers returning back to the paddock sold from 350c to 426c.
Cows and calves were very limited in supply and sold to a top of $1875.
