The supply of stock in Toowoomba increased by 141 head to 246 on Monday, after the rain reduced yarding last week.
Buyer attendance was generally good with the return of a local exporter, plus a light trade processor. The line-up of restocker buyers included some interstate operators.
Young lightweight cattle improved in price, while the feeder portion sold to solid demand. The small selection of cows improved in price with strong support from restockers as well as processors.
Yearling steers under 200kg made to 450.2c, and a good sample of yearling steers under 280kg made to 448.2c to average 430c. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 414.2c to average in the mid 390c range. A handful of heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 381.2c to average 356c.
Yearling heifers under 200kg made to 424c, and yearling heifers to feed made to 394c to average 389c. Medium weight plain condition cows returned to the paddock at 264.2c. A couple of heavy weight cows made to 282.2c. Heavy bulls made to 286.2c.
