Murgon combined agents held their fortnightly fat and store sale on Tuesday, with numbers back to 500. The market remained fully firm on the last sale and cattle were drawn from Gayndah, Mt Perry, Nanango, Kingaroy, Kilkivan and locally.
Heavy bulls topped at 294c/kg and $2690/hd and bullocks sold to 340c, $2310/hd.
Cows over 500kg topped at 279c, $1740/hd averaging 268c, while cows 400 to 500kg sold to 275c for a 239c average. Cows under 400kg topped at 243c.
Export heifers sold to 311c/kg and $1550/hd.
Hereford steers from Manumbar sold for 359c and $1855/hd. Charbray steers from Gayndah weighing 445kg sold for $1610/hd, while Charbray weaner steers from Murgon sold for 393c returning $794/hd.
Two pens of local Braford steers sold for 385c to return $1217/hd and $1075/hd, and Brangus cross steers from Tansey sold for 369c, $1204/hd.
Droughtmaster cross weaner steers from Manyung sold for 380c, $970/hd, while Droughtmaster weaner steers from Goomeri sold for 383c, $830/hd and local Droughtmaster cross weaner heifers sold for 349c returning $846/hd.
Euro cross weaner steers from Windera also sold to 380c and $900/hd, and Santa cross heifers from Memerambi weighing 343kg sold to 356c, $1220/hd.
Charbray heifers from Gayndah sold for 335c, $1270/hd at 335c, and Charbray weaner heifers from Gayndah sold for 363c, $726/hd.
Charbray heifers weighing 313kg from Murgon sold to 334c, $1050, while other Charbray weaner heifers weighing 276kg sold for 340c, $941/hd.
