The supply of stock at Warwick cattle sale increased by 122 head to 628 on Tuesday.

A fair panel of export buyers was present, however not all were operating. The usual feed and trade buyers plus restockers were in attendance and active.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers varied in price according to quality, while well bred lines experienced very good competition. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market received only quality related price changes.
Yearling heifers to feed followed a similar trend. A reduced number of cows sold to a mixed trend with a handful of plain condition cows remaining firm, while the better end of the cows lost from 3c to 4c/kg.
A small selection of vealer heifers sold to local butchers at 418.2c, to average 412c. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 478.2c, to average 424c.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 401c with the occasional pen to 420.2c. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 374c and made to 380c, with heavy weights to the trade at 394c.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background made to 398c, to average 384c. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market made to 401c, to average from 373c to 380c. A small selection of medium weights to the trade made from 402c to 407c.
Plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 259c and made to 262c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 248c, and heavy 3 scores averaged 266c. A couple of good heavy cows made to 283.2c. Heavy bulls made to 315c.
