The competition will kick off next week in the July 23 issue of the paper and run until August 20, with the winner to be drawn on August 27.
The steers will be sold by Grant Daniel and Long at the Dalby Saleyards on September 2.
The winner will receive half of the proceeds, with the balance donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
SGBAA general manager Chris Todd said this successful competition has been run for a number of years.
"We are extremely grateful to all members in the past and for Gyranda Santa Gertrudis Stud for donating this year's steers," Mr Todd said.
This is the third time the Mahony family has donated steers, which are currently being fed at Morgan Pastoral Company's Kurrawong Feedlot near Quinalow for 100 days.
Gyranda co-principal Peter Mahony said the steers have just hit the 60-day mark.
"These purebred steers predominately from our commercial herd are 18-month-old steers and were inducted into Kurrawong Feedlot at just under 400 kilograms in the middle of May," he said.
"They are HGP (hormone growth promotant) free and are over 500 kilograms and currently gaining about 2.10kg a day.
"We are pleased to again support the RFDS as we have used this service on a semi regular basis for everything from childbirth to a motorbike crash, and it is comforting to know that they have our backs."
Gyranda Stud recently won the RNA's Paddock to Palate 100 day HGP-free class with an average daily gain of 2.419kg, while one steer recorded an ADG of 3.26kg to claim the highest individual award.
They also placed third in the 70 day class, as well as recently being awarded champion grain-fed trade steer in the 2020 Callide Dawson Beef Carcase Competition.
