There were 534 head sold on Monday at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale. The market was firm to dearer, with all descriptions of cattle in high demand.

Sommer Brothers, Maleny, sold Friesian cows for $1620, Hereford cross cows for $1510 and AIS heifers for $1630. Woodford Carriers, sold Red Brahman steers for $1690 and $1510 and Charbray steers for $1510. Lindsey Ball, Mt Mee, sold Charbray heifers for $1900 and a line of milk-tooth steers for $1590.

Ned Radtke, Redland Bay, sold a Greyman bull for $2030 and Brahman cows for $1340. Graham Taylor, Nanango, sold Droughtmaster steers for $1135. Peter Cuskelly, Stony Creek, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $2040. Duggan & Stock, Hunchy, sold medium Braford and Murray Grey cows for $1335.

Gillingham Partnership, Mt Kilcoy, sold Simmental cows for $1660. Ian Thornton, Kilcoy, sold a Brangus bull for $2060. Greg and Margaret Chambers, Wamuran, sold a Brangus bull for $2020. Darcy Pratten, Mt Kilcoy, sold quality seven to eight-month-old Brangus weaners, with steers making $1050 and heifers $895.

Wesley Grace, Stanmore, sold Droughtmaster yearling steers for $1135. Adrianne Pty Ltd, Wamuran, sold a line of mixed breed steers for $1145. Graham Woodward, Mt Samson, sold Droughtmaster heifers for $1100. Gordon Engle, Maleny, sold Droughtmaster steers for $1290.

Richard Seery, Bracalba, sold Angus steers for $1520 and eight to 10-month-old Charbray steers for $940. Colin and Robyn Dellaway, Murgon, sold Gelbvieh vealer heifers for $830. Simon Struss, Conondale, sold six-month-old Angus calves, with steers making $820 and heifers $740.

Darrin Wilks, Woodford, sold eight-month-old Charbray weaners, with males making $950 and heifers $855. G and L Newton, Maleny, sold Angus weaner steers for $840 and heifers for $800. ALB Pastoral, Woolmar, sold five to six-month-old Charbray steers for $790.

Prentis Family, Nambour, sold six to seven-month-old Droughtmaster calves, with males making $825 and heifers $895. Gary Pratten, Kilcoy, sold Charbray steers for $870. Glenys Hanton, Kilcoy, sold Droughtmaster steers, seven months, for $870.
