THE sounds of excited children will heard in rural Queensland this week with musical instruments being delivered to eight schools connected to Evolution Mining's Mount Rowden and Cracow mining operations.
Rural Aid's community support team is on the road delivering the musical instruments to Coalstoun Lakes State School as well as Burnett State College and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Gayndah on Tuesday.
The other four schools to receive musical instruments on Wednesday are: Gayndah State School, Eidsvold State School, and Mundubbera State School, and Boynewood State School.
The musical instruments are part of a generous $120,000 donation by Evolution Mining.
Rural Aid chief executive officer John Warlters said the delivery of musical instruments were reactivated in line with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
"Evolution Mining's kind donation is one way of giving country kids the same opportunities as kids in other areas may experience," Mr Warlters said.
"For some kids their great outlet is sport, but for others it is music and other cultural pursuits.
"We head been forced to put the deliveries on hold because of COVID-19, but now we're back in action."
