Cattle numbers fell by 579 head to see a total yarding of 3507 at Dalby on Wednesday.

Cattle were mostly drawn from the local supply area with some western Queensland cattle yarded. A good buying panel was in attendance with both exporter and trade buyers present and operating.
The overall quality of the yarding was good. Demand was strong across the board which saw prices improve overall, particularly for yearling steers, bulls to feed and cows.
Medium weight steers to feed improved by 10c/kg. Heavy weight cows improved by 11c to 14c/kg. Light weight yearling steers under 200kg to restockers made to 534.2c to average 472c/kg. A large sample of light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers also reached a top of 534.2c to average 441c/kg.
Medium weight yearling steers under 330kg to feed or background sold to 452.2c to average 420c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to feed made to 420.2c to average 403c/kg.
A good sample of light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers made to 438.2c to average 401c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to feed or background sold to 394.2c to average 375c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 400kg to feed made to 404.2c to average 389c/kg.
There were limited numbers of grown steers yarded. The best of the grown heifers reached a top of 341.2c to average 332c/kg.
Medium weight 3 score cows sold to a top of 296.2c to average 282c, while heavy weight 3 score cows made to a top of 311.2c to average 308c/kg.
Heavy weight 3 score cows made to 294.2c to average 284c while the heavy weight 4 score cows sold to a top of 313.2c to average 305c/kg.
The best of the light weight weight bulls made to 368.2c to average 341c/kg.
