The Toowoomba Anglican School has been selected as a finalists in the Australian Education Awards for Boarding School of the Year along with School Principal of the Year (non-government), in this year's Australian Education Awards.
The Educator received hundreds of nominations and this was followed by an intensive research period to verify the nominations and ensure that those selected as finalists were the most deserving.
As Australia's only co-educational K-12 Day and Boarding School offering boarding facilities from Years 1 to 12, the school's family boarding culture is a point of difference.
"Outstanding boarding schools provide a 24 hour, 7 days a week experience and it takes a team effort to help achieve this" said principal Simon Lees.
"I acknowledge the hard work, support and sacrifices of our boarding and day families in helping to ensure our school is a "home away from home".
"Most importantly, the award recognises our fantastic students who are integral in maintaining the positive and inclusive tone and culture."
Mr Lees also acknowledged the incredible work of TAS staff and students that contributed to his nomination as Principal of the Year.
"I feel very humbled and honoured to receive this award but it would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of all TAS staff and students."
