There were 356 head sold on Monday at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale. A good quality yarding sold to a strong market, with weaner steers in high demand. Rates for feeder cattle, vealers and cows also increased.

Bob Nicholls, Woodford, sold lines of Droughtmaster cows for $1300 and yearling heifers for $1005. Darcy Pratten, Mt Kilcoy, sold Brangus cows for $1350 and Brangus weaners, eight months, with steers making $935 and heifers $825. Don Youles, Jimna, sold Brahman yearling males for $1075 and Brahman heifers for $895.
Vern and Kim Duncan, Mt Mee, sold Angus heifers for $1060. Russell Lindsay, Wamuran, sold Murray Grey vealer heifers for $750-$800. Terry O'Neill, Bracalba, sold Charbray steers for $985. RS Youles and Sons, Kilcoy, sold Brahman heifers, 12 to 14 months, for $1050.
Murray Johnston, Villeneuve, sold lines of Droughtmaster weaners, seven to eight months, with steers making $880 and heifers $800. Jim and Kim Green, Mt Archer, sold a line of seven-month-old Droughtmaster steers for $860.
Dan Hall, Monsildale, sold seven to eight-month-old Droughtmaster weaners, with steers making $930 and heifers $720. Brisbane Valley Protein, Coominya, sold six-month-old Limousin steers for $920, five-month-old Droughtmaster steers for $680 and lines of three to four-month-old Droughtmaster heifers for $565 and $505.
Mark Vidoni, Delaneys Creek, sold seven-month-old Charbray steers for $890. Quayle Cattle Company, Peachester, sold a line of milk-tooth Charolais cross heifers for $1070. Barry Pratten, Mt Kilcoy, sold eight-month-old Charbray steers for $890. Anne Polsoni, Wamuran, sold Angus steers for $980.
W and G Hanton, Kilcoy, sold Droughtmaster heifers for $1095 and five-month-old steers for $695. Steve Kupfer, Neurum, sold a pen of Charbray vealer heifers for $680. Michael Christie, Stanmore, sold Charbray weaners, seven to eight months, with steers making $855 and heifers $700.
Trent and Tennille Raeburn, Delaneys Creek, sold Angus steers for $820 - $915 and Angus heifers for $755. ALB Pastoral, Woolmar, sold Brahman cross vealers for $790 - $875. Van Keighley, Ocean View, sold Santa steers for $950.
