The supply of stock experienced a small increase of 242 head to 3392 at Dalby on Wednesday.

There was a wide variation in quality from well presented classes through to secondary lines. The usual panel of export buyers was present, however not all were operating.
The regular feeder and trade buyers were also in attendance and providing strong support on suitable classes, along with some additional southern restocker activity.
The market was described as dearer for most classes of young light weight cattle, and cows to processors averaged 4c to 12c/kg better.
Mixed sex calves returned to the paddock at an average of 395c with sales to 432.2c/kg. Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers at an average of 408c with sales to 426.2c/kg.
Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged 358c to 360c and made to 418.2c, while a very large consignment returned to the paddock at 412.2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 354c and made to 360c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background made to 400c to average 355c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market made to 375.2c, with a large sample averaging 347c/kg.
Heavy weight yearling heifers sold to the trade at an average of 356c with sales to 379.2c/kg. Medium weight grown steers to feed made to 316.2c to average 302c/kg.
Cows under 400kg to processors made to 252.2c to average 227c/kg. Medium weight cows made to 279.2c to average 257c/kg.
A large sample of heavy weight cows averaged 265c and made to 284.2c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 306.2c/kg.
