The cattle market also saw a decreased yarding online last week however clearance rates increased to average 83 per cent and an abundance of bidding activity kept prices strong.

Queensland offerings totalled 5201 head which was down 3727 from the previous week.
The Ray White Livestock Tenterfield and Warwick weaner and breeder sale was held on AuctionsPlus for the first time. Over 300 head from the offering of 2053 were from southern Queensland.
In the eastern states sale this week, a notable highlight was the registered Speckle Park heifer with a bull calf at foot, offered by Gammagaze Pty Ltd, Irongate, which sold for $9900. The Minnamurra blood cow is 30 months old, weighs 479kg and the calf at foot is one month old and weighs 76kg.
Weaners and yearlings followed the dearer market trend last week as there were price increases across all categories for both steers and heifers.
Light steers under 200kg sold from 463c to 662c, averaging 550c, up 19c. The top price was offered by NB Boshammer (NB Genetics), Chincilla. Their line of 32 Angus steers are six to seven months old, weigh 122kg and have Speriby North and Dulverton bloodlines.
Heifers over 400kg averaged 348c, up 9c, as prices ranged tightly between 404c and 408c. The top price was returned by a line of 44 Angus heifers offered by Taraba Farming, Toobeah. The future breeders are 18-20 months old, weigh 409kg and will cross the border into NSW.
SHEEP
Sheep listings in Queensland last week saw a yarding of 9547 head, down 5250 from the previous week.
Merino wether lambs accounted for a large portion of the state's sheep listings with 4355 on the box. These sold between $146 and $183 to average $161.
A tidy line of 880 wether lambs from Cunnamulla, by J & P McKenzie, weighing 33kg sold for $156 and are journeying to Jugiong, NSW.
Station-mated Merino ewes were in hot demand as many buyers are looking to rebuild numbers quickly. Selling between $164 and $368 to average $242, a notable line of 800 ewes offered across two lots from Talwood, aged 2.5-5.5 years averaging 53kg sold for $252 and $253 respectively and are headed to Wellington in central west NSW.
Store lambs numbers and averages were down considerably by 46c, averaging 496c and ranging from 370c to 691c. Highlights included a line of first-cross Charolais/Merino mixed sex store lambs from Jandowae, which were Jun/Aug '19 drop and averaged 43kg which sold for $160 or 370c.
